They found that across all cultures people are more likely to use positive words than negative ones.

The languages studied were: English, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, Indonesian, Chinese, Korean and Russian.

Overall Spanish and Portuguese people used the happiest language, while (surprise surprise) the Chinese, Korean and Russians used the saddest language.
