The Perfect Summer Will Set You Back Five Figures!

First day of summer!!!  Did you set your budget for summer fun? No?  How are you supposed to have the “perfect summer” if you don’t set aside the right amount?  And it’s a lot!

When you add up all the fun things that make summer, “summer” such as barbecues, trips to the beach, trips to the movies and more, you just might get sticker shock hotter than that sunburn.

Groupon has crunched the numbers, and says the "perfect summer" will cost Americans nearly $45,000.

Groupon says the "ultimate summer" includes six cookouts, several restaurant dinners, five movie and beach outings and two overseas trips, and the website says for a family of four this will cost $43,154.

Given that kind of price tag it’s no surprise many of us settle for something short of “perfect”!

Groupon surveyed Americans to find out their preferences for summertime activities, and 85 percent said they seek out vacation activities within their home state.

The beach was ranked as the top family activity, followed by a trip to an amusement or water park, and backyard barbecues came in third. (Groupon/Fox News)
