The problem is, too many take Frank at his word!

We all know that even a few drinks can affect your motor skills and your behavior.

The Washington State legislature has been working on ways to make the DUI laws even tougher on repeat offenders but the power of the punchbowl is a strong opponent.  In fact,  new research suggests that even just the smell of alcohol makes it difficult for people to control their behavior.

The small study from out of England looked at 40 people who were given a face mask either laced with alcohol or a non-alcoholic citrus solution. Both groups were then asked to complete a computerized test meant to measure reaction time, response accuracy and false alarm rates.

Remember, they haven’t been drinking-just smelling. Participants had to press a button when they saw either the letter "K" or a picture of a beer. Overall, alcohol-related visual cues elicited lower false alarm rates, slower reaction times and higher accuracy rates, however false alarm rates-- or times when a button was pressed when neither assigned images was shown-- were much higher for participants inhaling alcohol.
