Rob Peterson is the new Yakima Airport Manager, removing the interim title which he held since the retirement of Lee Remmel in October of last year.

Peterson began his career in 2002 as a Flight Operations Supervisor for Atlantic Coast Airlines after graduating from Southern Illinois University with a bachelor’s degree in aviation management. In 2007, after earning a master’s degree in public administration in aviation from SIU, Peterson was hired as an Aviation Operations Representative at Denver International Airport. In 2009, he served for about a year as Airport Operations/Maintenance Supervisor at Dayton International Airport before becoming Airport Operations Officer at Fort Worth Meacham International Airport. He came to Yakima in 2011 as the Assistant Yakima Airport Manager.

Peterson says "my duties with the airport have not changed, but due to the recent acquisition of the airport, the City of Yakima has decided to restructure the organization of the airport which entailed eliminating the Assistant Airport Manager Position."
