Here is one of those head scratchers that makes you ask “now WHY would that be?”  Science says there may be a way to make your favorite foods taste even better , and by extension, make un-favorite foods perhaps palatable and it has nothing to do with the recipe.Oxford University researchers gave diners identical meals, but half were given light, cheap knives and forks to eat with, while the other half were given cutlery that was three times as heavy. Those with the heavy cutlery said they liked their meals about ten percent better and were willing to pay 15 percent more for their meal compared to those who ate with lighter utensils.

So why WOULD that be? Researcher say it’s likely that the positive or negative values that we attribute to the cutlery get transferred to our judgment of the food—something called 'sensation transference.' They also suggest that using heavier utensils makes us more aware of the entire dining experience, meaning we'll notice the taste more. (Yahoo
