Yakima's First Tee organization wants to grow and it's looking at creating a driving range and 18 hole putting green at the SOZO Sports Complex. Christina McCarthy the Executive Director of the program which teaches kids golf and  social skills says they're researching the proposal at this time to create the driving range "with year around use with heaters and covers and then also an 18-hole putting course."
McCarthy says it would be a significant investment and would give people an option in Yakima and would create an activity for parents and others who spend time at the complex for games and tournaments.
The First Tee is in the process of moving it's offices to the SOZO Sports complex located at South 36th Avenue and Spring Creek Road.
