The country’s taste for beer is changing.  You can debate “less filling” vs. “great taste” but there’s no debate about more kick.  U.S. beer drinkers have overwhelmingly preferred light lagers in the past, and they are still the nation's top sellers, but these days brewers are releasing more beers with higher ABV (alcohol by volume.)Fox news reports consumer research firm Mintel found that in 2013 and 2014, nearly 25 percent of new beers launched globally had an ABV of 6.5 percent or higher. That's compared to just 15 percent of beers launched in 2012.  Bud Light, for example, has an ABV of just over four percent.

Industry professionals say craft beer was growing, it seemed that ABV grew with it.  Drinkers today have more sophisticated palates than drinkers generally did years ago and they're constantly looking to explore unique, high-quality beers.  (FOX)

Speaking of craft beers, we are less than a month away from the nation’s best beer festival rolling into town.  September 12 from 2 to 5 I the heart of downtown Yakima it’s America On Tap.  Food, fun, music and more and almost 100 beers to taste.
