Another in a series of short day trips you can take around the Yakima Valley that won’t totally destroy your gas budget.

Through his love of art and the outdoors, Ellensburg native John Ford Clymer became one of the best known artists and illustrators of the 20th Century. Many have said that only Norman Rockwell could be considered to have achieved the same level.

From his many magazine covers, advertising illustrations, and historically themed paintings, John Clymer touched the artistic souls of many Americans. I personally enjoy his paintings depicting the Lewis and Clark Expedition.

The museum's website is packed with information.

Take the short hop to the Clymer Museum in Ellensburg. It is well worth it!
