It must be the weather turning to real fall-like conditions, but something is spurring me on to get things done around the home. How about you?

I don't know what caused it exactly, but I was on a real tear to get some household chores done over the weekend. It's probably the change in the weather, with colder and wetter conditions starting to drive us indoors.

What did I get accomplished?

With the help of the family, we got our back yard picked up, patio cleaned up, and got our lawn furniture under cover. We took out some of our dead summer foliage in anticipation of winter.

I took care of some automotive chores, too. After a summer of neglect, I properly winterized our 1968 Chrysler convertible and covered it up. It will need a trip to the mechanic next spring, but it's good for now. I also got the the tires rotated on my car, having already had it serviced for cold weather.

I did get to do one of my favorite things on Saturday. My 8-year-old son and I made a trip to Costco ostensibly for a big bag of cat food, but it turned into a quest for food samples and frozen yogurt. It's good father/son outing for us.

We even found time to turn our front yard into a spooky graveyard for Halloween.

Colder temperatures have reignited my cooking flames as well. I find myself spending more time in the kitchen. The crock pot is my friend at this time of year.

November, standard time, and the holidays are coming. Who knows what I'll get accomplished with those inspirations!
