I’ll admit I sometimes get a little frustrated by the amount of time my wife spends on Facebook. (She does the same with me, given my time spent watching television) But as usual I’m right and she’s…well, righter?

Anyway, I got to wondering what is “average” or “normal” social media behavior for today’s wired-in woman. From Women’s Health magazine comes the answer.

  • Five times a day is the number of times the average woman visits a social networking site.
  • 64 percent of women "consider themselves a bit addicted" to social networks.
  • Facebook is her favorite social networking site.
  • 100 to 300 is the number of "friends" she has on Facebook.
  • 10 to 20 is the number of these "friends" she'd actually pick up the phone and call.
  • "No" is how she feels about "friending" her boss.
  •  30 percent use Facebook to reconnect with an ex.
  • 25 percent have snooped on their guy's Facebook page.
  • 41 percent have written off a guy based on his profile.
  • 20 percent have posted or tweeted a hot photo to get back at an ex.
  • Posting incriminating photos or wall post discovered by a family member is the average woman's most embarrassing social networking snafu.
  • A few times a week is how often the average woman updates her status.
  • 12 percent have let Twitter or Facebook interrupt a workout.
