Wapato High School will be hosting the 58th Annual Bean Feed on Friday, Jan. 16.

The fundraiser, which will take place in the high school commons, will raise money for the North Star Lodge Cancer Care Center in Yakima. Mike Balmelli, public relations rirector for Wapato Schools, said that the kids changed from the American Cancer Society because they wanted to donate the money to someplace local.

According to a news release, the feed has raised more than $150,000 to help cancer patients over the years.

The feed will start at 4:30 p.m. and run until 7. The Wapato basketball teams will also be in action that night with the girls game starting at 5:45 and the boys game at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased at the school, from any Wapato High School student or at the door of the event.
