Terrace Heights Mobile Home Fire Contained

KNDO

Firefighters battled a mobile home fire in Terrace Heights Wednesday afternoon.

Crews were called to the 2200 Block of Butterfield Road Wednesday afternoon as flames spread quickly and threatened surrounding homes.

“It could have been a lot worse,” said Captain Tom Schneider with the Yakima Fire Department. “I think the speed of the response helped keep it in check to where it is right now, in my opinion.”

The home owners said they all made it out safely, but were devastated to see their long time family home go up in flames.

Firefighters said they’re trying to determine the cause, but at this time they don’t believe it’s suspicious.
