Yakima County Sheriff's Search and Rescue crews spent the weekend searching the Roza Canal for a missing teen from Selah who has not yet been identified.

Yakima County Sheriff's Sgt. George Town says the search started Friday when employees conducting routine canal checks “noticed that it looked like someone had slid down into the canal.”

Detectives soon got involved and discovered a missing 18-year-old out of Selah could be the person they were looking for.

Crews spent the weekend searching the canal even going as far as Zillah and beyond. The search continues today.

No other details are available as to why the man was near the canal bank and what might have caused him to possibly slide down the embankment.
