Teacher Sentenced in Molestation Case

KNDO

A former Othello, Wash., elementary school teacher has been sentenced to 12 months in jail and a three-year sex offender treatment program for molesting a 10-year-old boy.

Lisa Davis pleaded guilty last month to child molestation. She was sentenced Monday by an Adams County Superior Court judge.

KXLY-TV reports that Davis molested a student in her class at Scootney Springs Elementary School.

Davis was placed on administrative leave after she was accused in July, and she later resigned.

KHQ-TV reports that the 48-year-old woman apologized to the court, saying, “I have spent my entire life helping others. It’s a crushing feeling to know I have failed.”
