Yakima city employees, their families, and city retirees now have an in house health care center to help them with health care needs, at no cost. The clinic opened on Wednesday.

The City of Yakima has been self-insured, offering employees a health plan for years, but this clinic is where they can go for their primary care. The city expects to save nearly $2 million a year in health care costs each year.

Cheryl Ann Mattia, the new clinic's project leader, was a guest on Wednesday's Mike Bastinelli show. She told us why the city moved to establish the clinic, who will operate it, and how patients will utilize it.
