Seems like we are always looking for the next medical miracle … maybe it’s time we looked in the medicine cabinet. If you've ever had a headache, it's likely you've taken ibuprofen. The popular painkiller you may know as Advil has been found to extend the life of yeast, worms and flies by about 15 percent.  Ok, maybe that's not the most representative of samples but researchers say that IF that applied to humans, it would mean 12 extra, healthy years of life.

It's thought the drug slows down aging by preventing cells from absorbing a compound called tryptophan, which is found in foods such as turkey, chocolate and eggs.  Previous research showed the drug also perked up aging mice.
