Debra Ward received a handicapped equipped wheelchair van that was donated by the family of Sandra Rotter of Mattawa who died in April but wanted her van to be donated to a local veteran.
When I was a kid, I believed that our schoolteachers, firefighters, police officers and our veterans were always taken care of. When I got older, I sure did learn a few things. Turns out hey are not always taken care of. In fact, some of them struggle and shouldn't -- even with something simple like a blanket or jacket.
A brutal attack on a United States veteran took place at a McDonald's in Washington, D.C. There is a lot that goes along with this story but, one of my biggest concerns is that not one person standing out front of the McDonald's helped this veteran. Not one. More than one took part in his attack.
