The Union Gap City Council, searching for ways to save money has authorized its city manager to enter into contract negotiations with the Yakima County District Court officials to transfer operation of the Union Gap Municipal Court to Yakima County

The Union Gap city council made an effort towards a fresh start in the city on Monday night by hiring a new city manager. The Council chose Rodney Otterness as the new manager. Otterness comes from Minnesota where he was a city administrator for seven years
