Another rookie pitcher for the Padres again tied up Seattle run for a wildcard spot. Joey Lucchesi went 6 2/3 innings shut down the Mariners 8-3.

Padres' Jason Nix was two outs from a complete game, before getting pulled. But, outlasted Felix Hernandez to snap a five game losing streak with a 2-1.

Once again, a late inning rally for the Mariners had the DBacks biting their nails. But Arizona avoided a three-game sweep by beating the Mariners 5-2.

The Mariners put a late inning scare into the Astros. But, the rally fell short in the Houston 10-7 win. This win gives the Astros sole ownership of the AL West.

Some costly errors by the Mariners defense and Felix loss of command of his pitches open up the flood gates for Texas. The Ranger hammered Seattle 11- 4.

The most surprising team, thus far, as it relates to the 2018 MLB season, is clearly the Seattle Mariners. Today they were rewarded with that by getting three of their players tabbed to the AL All-Star team.
