Woman Struck by a Car While Walking Along Highway

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

A car struck a 68-year-old woman while she was walking along Highway 97 a mile south of Union Gap. Washington State Patrol troopers say Maxine Rippy was walking northbound at about 5:30 last night, when she ran into the roadway and was struck by a vehicle driven by a 38-year-old Yakima man who was not injured. Rippy was taken to a Yakima hospital.

Bail has been set at a half million dollars for 32-year-old Benjamin McKenzie, the man arrested in Monday's crash that injured two young brothers. McKenzie faces two charges of vehicular assault after police say he was on drugs when he struck the brothers at a Yakima intersection Monday morning

Two Brothers Struck by Car, Driver Arrested

Two brothers, ages 10 and 11 remain in the hospital today after being struck by a car at the intersection of King Street and Rock Avenue around 8:30 Monday morning. Yakima Police Captain Rod Light says the driver, identified as 32-year-old Benjamin McKenzie was under the influence of drugs and was traveling northbound on rock avenue when he struck the two brothers in the intersection
