The Yakima City Council wants to share the cost of parades and big events downtown but it did not take action on a proposed policy during the council meeting on Tuesday night. Currently the city pays for security and traffic management for all approved events, but under a new proposal those costs would now be shared or paid in full by the event organizers not the city.
