Tacoma Man Drowns in the Naches River

A 24-year-old man from Tacoma died in the Naches River Tuesday afternoon after entering the water at north 16th Avenue. Authorities say the man was with his brother and girlfriend when he decided to pull off the road and take a swim. He never returned to the vehicle and police were called. Martin Diego's body was recovered early Tuesday night near the train trestle bridges along Highway 12 by members of the Yakima County Search and Rescue and the Yakima Police Department.
