A suspicious device left in an alley by the federal courthouse in Yakima was not a bomb.  Yakima Police responded to the 300 block of East Chestnut Tuesday afternoon for a reported suspicious pipe with end caps on it in the alley.  Explosive ordinance technicians from the Yakima Training Center were called in to check out the suspicious device. Turns out the pipe contained concrete and not explosives.  Several area businesses and streets were evacuated and closed during the incident.  Federal officers assigned to the courthouse reported the suspicious device.
