A man who was involved in a officer shooting and car chase that ended up on East Yakima Avenue was arrested Saturday night.

At a little after 11:00 p.m., Gary Gallagher was arrested by Yakima Police in connection with an incident Friday night where Gallagher nearly ran over officers trying to serve an arrest warrant. He was located in Northeast Yakima.

Yakima Police had combined with DOC officials who were sent to serve the warrant to Gallagher at approximately 5:00 p.m. Friday. Gallagher escaped in a white Ford Explorer which resulted in a chase that ended at a local hotel on East Yakima Avenue. Gallagher escaped on foot after parking the car.

After being caught Saturday night, Gallagher was treated for injuries sustained during the original encounter and then booked into Yakima County Jail.

Yakima detective's continue to investigate the incident.
