Summer Vacation

My recent vacation was great!  Just shutting down for almost two weeks really helped to rejuvenate my energy and spirits...AND it may have added a little more longevity to my punch card!

The Daily Mail reports researchers from the University of Helsinki looked at data from 1,222 middle-aged male executives which they began collecting back in the mid 1970's.

The men were observed over the next 40 years and the scientists found that men who took three weeks or less of annual work leave were 37 percent more likely to die during the course of the study compared to those who took off more than three weeks each year!

If that's not grounds to negotiate for more time off I don't know what is!  They also found those who did not take regular vacations tended to work longer hours and get less sleep, both which have severe negative impacts on health.

This is a big beautiful country.  Get out and see some of it.   Your body and brain will thank you for it!
