Two Sunnyside High School teachers are suspended and under investigation for using inappropriate teaching materials. KIMA Action News reports school district officials would not confirm or deny the information.

Action News reached out to the teacher's union, but they said they had not heard about the suspensions until reporters called.

Action News confirmed one of the teachers was put on leave about a week and a half ago.

Sources said the material provided to students was not appropriate.

A local minister said the behavior should not be tolerated.

"It destroys moral values," says Regner Capener, a minister in Sunnyside. "It destroys trust. It's like, if the adults are promoting this, where do we stand?"

KIMA filed a public records request to gain access to whatever is available in this investigation.

Action News will make sure the district is revealing everything the public is allowed to know.
