Sunnyside Police Searching For Shooting Suspect

Sunnyside police are actively searching for a 27-year-old man after he escaped a shooting that involved an officer on Tuesday.  Police say they stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation in the 300 block of South 11th Street. Marcus Anthony Torres got out of the car and pointed a gun at officers. Police responded with gunfire and Torres fled the scene. Three of the passengers in the car are cooperating with police. Torres is an ex-convict with a history of running from law enforcement. The Washington State Patrol is now investigating the shooting. No one was injured.
