Sunnyside Gunshot Victim Dead

A 29-year-old Sunnyside man is dead after a single gunshot to his abdomen while in the Sunnyside/Outlook area.

The victim is identified as Roberto Licea and he was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at Sunnyside Community Hospital in a private vehicle.

The two persons that brought the victim to the hospital were detained by Sunnyside Police officers, according to KAPP-tv.

The two told investigators that they had been driving in the Sunnyside/Outlook area when they saw a white car occupied by gang members and an occupant in the white car fire a shot that struck Licea.

Licea was then transported to Sunnyside Community Hospital and detectives later learned that one of the occupants of the car had fired the fatal shot.

The suspect is a 31-year-old Hispanic male from Outlook and was booked at the Yakima County Jail on murder charges while Licea's autopsy is planned for Tuesday.
