Sunnyside And Grandview Police On Search For Drugs

Sunnyside Police along with LEAD Task Force and Grandview Police executed search warrants today on four local convenience stores on Wednesday.

The search warrants were obtained after it was found that the four intended markets were selling “spice” (synthetic marijuana) a controlled substance governed under RCW 69.50 classified as Schedule One narcotic.

The convenience stores were found to have 700 packets of the drug recovered by detectives.

Additionally over 300 marijuana and methamphetamine smoking pipes and drug packaging materials were recovered making the street value eradicated by law enforcement today worth over $17,000. The packages of “spice” retail for $10-$20 on average and the paraphernalia from $5-$10 each; both the “spice” and paraphernalia are illegal in the City of Sunnyside.

Charges on store owners will be forwarded to the Prosecutor’s Office for review. All four markets are within school zones. The stores that were searched were Park N Pak at 905 E Lincoln Ave, 16th Street Market at 1121 S 16th St, Lincoln Market at 1517 E Lincoln Ave and Minute Mart and Smoke Shop at 301 S 13th St.
