There were only minor injuries in a plane crash at the Yakima Airport Thursday.

Yakima firefighters were called out to the airport where they say a 2008 "Just Highlander" aircraft was landing on runway when a cross wind lifted the plane and then flipped the plane onto the infield.

Two of Yakima's specialized aircraft firefighting and rescue vehicles quickly responded to the crash site and found both the pilot and the student exiting the plane with minor injuries. There was no fire and no fuel leaked from the plane.

The owner estimates the plane was destroyed in the crash with damage estimated at $75,000
