The former Mills Music/Nordstrom building is changing. The section of the southbound lane of 4th Street between Yakima Avenue and an alleyway just north of the Capitol Theatre will be temporarily closed while renovation work continues on a building that used to be home to Mills Music.
The renovation work will also result in the closure of sidewalks and curbside parking spaces just north and east of the building that’s being renovated.
Work on the “Valentina” project at 316 East Yakima Avenue has been moving slowly over the past several months, but is now back underway. The building, which was once home to Nordstrom’s and before that to J.C. Penney, is being renovated to accommodate a mix of retail, office, and residential uses.
The closure of the small section of 4th Street and nearby sidewalks and parking spaces is expected to last until late summer or early fall of this year.
