Optimism is the feeling shared by Washington state's political leaders as they believe a budget deal will be reached this weekend.

There are still many unresolved items in the budget talks, KNDO reports, but Governor Jay Inslee says there has been significant movement toward an agreement so reaching a deal this weekend is likely.

If a deal is not reached, KNDO says the state leaders expect to shut down most of the state government which is "absolutely the last thing" that Inslee wants to see happen.

Inslee even says that he will call back the lawmakers for Saturday morning to negotiate all weekend if a deal is not done by Friday, according to KNDO.
