Special DUI Emphasis Patrols in Effect Through The New Year

The “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” traffic emphasis starts Wednesday in Yakima and throughout state as people start having a good time for the holidays. Officers and troopers throughout the state will conduct special DUI emphasis patrols looking for drivers who drink and get behind the wheel. The emphasis will continue through Jan. 1. Officers from Yakima, Grandview, Moxee, Sunnyside, Toppenish, Union Gap and Wapato along with the county sheriff deputies and state troopers will canvas roads looking for impaired drivers.
