Fitness trackers are all the rage from phones to Fitbits to watches, the devices serve as reminder, encourager, scorekeeper, diet watcher and more.  I'm about to chain my wrist to a fitbit myself, but like any good tool, they can be abused and in some cases are fueling an unhealthy obsession among teens.

Fox news reports the latest pushback from the principal comes from a  girls' high school in England.  The school has been forced to ban FitBits, fitness trackers, and smartwatches over worries that students are using the devices to track calories and steps and choosing to skip lunch if they fail to meet their step count goals.

Teachers are concerned the trackers are actually impacting the mental health of students, and may be contributing to an overall obsession with body image.  (Fox)
