Yakima City street crews are working through the night and into Wednesday morning clearing city streets of snow. And the city has issued a Snow Route Alert. The Alert, according to city spokesman Randy Beehler is designed to make the process of removing snow much quicker, especially in the downtown core. The Snow Route Alert allows crews to focus their plows on areas that need to be cleared of snow and slush. Beehler says the most important part of the Snow Route Alert is the need for drivers to move vehicles from snow routes by no later than 8:00 p.m. TONIGHT. The snow routes are mainly in the downtown core of the city.
