We’ve shared a number of studies about the benefits of a good night’s sleep but there are costs to poor sleep too!

Researchers out of the UK discovered that getting less than five hours of shut eye in a night will leave you snippy and forgetful the next day. (My wife will say that explains a lot about Morning Radio types!) When the scientists tested participants who slept less than five hours, 50 percent had to check whether they'd done something or not, and 44 percent forgot something they intended to do. (I confess to both!)

Overall, those who slept fewer than five hours were 25 percent more forgetful than those who slept longer. Study leaders say that good sleep leads to improved memory performance and this leads to a better quality of life.  Time to rethink that new mattress purchase! (Daily Mail)
