The snow is deep in the Pacific Northwest this year and that's good news for skiers and boarders at ski resorts throughout the region. At the White Pass ski area spokesperson Kathleen Goyette says snow started falling in late November and the resort opened during the first week of December. She says "since then the snow has been falling and we now have 250 inches of snow at the top of White Pass with a 217 inch base."
Goyette says that's double what they'd expect to get at that time of year. And she says it means good news for business not only at the White Pass ski area but at businesses up and down Highway 12.
