21 year old Raymond Kelly (pictured below) said he may have been going a little too fast for the on ramp to Hwy 12 West from I-82 South. Kelly said his left tire caught the gravel on the left side (photo below) of the on ramp which may have caused him to overcompensate to get back on the road causing his car to spin out on to the right side of the road as shown in the photo above. The accident happened between approximately 9 and 9:30am.

When I first passed the accident I was on eastbound 12 headed for I-82 south and the car was on it's left side with the passenger side sticking straight up in the air. I saw passers by at the scene. By the time I could get back to the scene the police had shown up and the car was back on all fours but pointing the opposite direction from the road.

An ambulance was called to the scene and left without the only participant in the accident, Mr. Kelly, who indicated that he had not been hurt, though he was obviously rattled by what had occurred. Mr. Kelly also indicated that he was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol and did not appear to be so.

The police were sitting in their squad car and Mr. Kelly was waiting by his Chevrolet Camaro waiting for a tow truck to pull the car out of the embankment. Mr. Kelly said he believed the car would still be driveable.
