I went to a meeting at the Yakima School District last night for parents of kids in the Highly Capable program.  I’m so happy to say that the “gator”, Katelyn is off to a great start in school.  She has a pretty sophisticated vocabulary for a 6 year old. She breezed through kindergarten and we hope she’ll be challenged by the program and pushed to reach her true potential as a student.

Man Gets 8 Years In Prison For Bank Robbery

A man convicted of robbing the U.S. Bank branch at Third Avenue and Nob Hill Boulevard in Yakima in January was sentenced to eight years in prison in Yakima County Superior Court on Tuesday.

Forty-two-year-old Dane Andrus was arrested for robbing the bank, then leading police on a high-speed chase through Yakima that ended on Interstate 82
