The M's haven't posted a winning record since 2009, when they won 85 games under manager Don Wakamatsu.

Current manager Eric Wedge is in the third year of his current contract, and has yet to make the team a winner. The front office has made some mistakes, with bad trades and signing several unproductive free agents.

General Manager Jack Zduriencik has reportedly been signed to a contract extension for 2014, but nothing has been said about Wedge's future. Wedge has had some health issues this season, but his team has not produced the results that the fans have expected.
