kit

A 26-year-old woman is being treated at a Yakima hospital for a gunshot wound after someone fired shots into her home in the 1100 block of south 6th Avenue at about 12:30 today. Yakima police say the woman, who hasn’t been identified, was shot in the back while she was in bed. The woman says she was sleeping when she felt a sharp pain in her back and noticed she had been shot. Her baby, who was in a crib at the end of her bed, was not injured.

During the investigation, officers were contacted by someone who told them his vehicle was hit by bullets near the home at the time the woman was shot. Police believe the bullets that hit the home were being fired at the vehicle. Police are investigating the shooting they say is gang related. We don’t know the condition of the 26-year-old victim at a Yakima hospital today.
