Yakima County sheriff's detectives say they have a strong case against a couple who authorities claim tried to hire a hit man on Saturday but were instead arrested.

Detective Sgt. Mike Russell says the man and woman met with an undercover officer they thought was a hit man on Saturday. Russell says it's a strong case because they have the couple on tape.

"In this case we were able to get them on recording making the deal to have this victim killed," he says. "The money involved. The details." Russell says the couple were trying to hire someone to kill the ex-husband of the female.

Forty-nine-year-old John A. Feher of Richland and 33-year-old Heather K. Walbridge of Kennewick face charges of solicitation to commit murder. Russell says the apparent target in the case is relieved and thankful for the arrests.
