Seniors In Yakima Could Get Tax Break
Taxes are on the rise but you want a break. If you're a senior you may want to learn more about a program called senior exemption. If you qualify it could help you with your tax bill. County Assessor Dave Cook says there's 3 requirements that qualify you for a break in some property taxes. You must live in the house where you claim the exemption, must be at least 61- years-old and your household income must be $40,000 or less.
Cook says the exemption is only good on the house you live in. If you'd like more information about senior exemption contact the Yakima County Assessors office.
