Yakima police have arrested a second suspect in Tuesday's fatal shooting in downtown Yakima. The man in his 20s was arrested at a Selah home Wednesday afternoon. He is being held in the county jail. The victim has been identified as 26-year-old Octavio Rangel, a well known gang member from Yakima. Police Capt. Rod Light says he was shot by a 15-year-old rival gang member after arriving on a bus at the transit center at 4th Street and Chestnut Avenue just before 6:00 p.m. Tuesday. Light says in an unusual move detectives were able to arrest the teen shooter through the help of witnesses. He says they were willing to talk to police because they were not gang members.

Detectives say they are concerned about retaliation in the shooting. The 15-year-old suspect is being held in the county juvenile jail on a half million dollars bail. A hearing is set for Friday to determine if the teen will be charged with murder in adult court. The second suspect is expected to make an appearance in county superior court later today. The 15-year-old suspect has been identified as Daniel Perez, Jr.
