Second Autopsy Finds Pasco Man Shot In Back
KENNEWICK, Wash. (AP) — An attorney says an independent autopsy conducted on a Mexican man shot by police in Pasco, Washington, shows different results from what investigators have said.
The independent autopsy found that 35-year-old Antonio Zambrano-Montes was shot seven times, with at least two entrance wounds on the back of his body.
That's according to Charles Herrmann, lawyer for Zambrano-Montes' estranged wife and two daughters.
He commissioned the second autopsy, which was conducted Feb. 20 by a Seattle pathologist.
Franklin County Prosecutor Shawn Sant didn't immediately return a call seeking comment on the findings.
On Wednesday, a spokesman for the special unit investigating the shooting said preliminary results of the official autopsy showed the victim was struck by five or six bullets, none from behind.
