Police have not arrested the driver of a garbage truck that left the scene after running over a woman Thursday afternoon in Seattle.

Officers are still investigating and say the driver may not have been aware of hitting the woman on a street near Harborview Medical Center.

The Recology CleanScapes company issued a statement on its website Friday saying its truck was involved and it's cooperating with investigators. The company offered condolences to the family of the woman. The King County Medical Examiner's Office identified her Friday as 42-year-old Rebecca Scollard, of Seattle.

Witnesses said she was dragged nearly a half-block by the large lime green truck. Medics found her dead at the scene.

CleanScapes is under contract with the city of Seattle for waste management.
