Seattle Residents Among the Nation’s Most Well-Read –Dave’s Diary
Think of the great cities in America to include Seattle. Think of their personalities, what they represent, what they stand for. Some cities like L.A. are known for their traffic. Some cities like Chicago or New Orleans are notorious for their high rate of crime. Others are known for being rich.
But according to an annual Amazon.com, Alexandria, VA, a close-in suburb of Washington, DC, is known for something a little more cerebral. Among all U.S. cities with a population of at least 100,000, Alexandria is the most well-read. Perhaps it comes from reading all those multi-thousand page bills coming out of congress. You know the ones. We have to pass it--and then read it?--to know what’s in it? Coming in right behind Alexandria are Knoxville, Tennessee and Miami, Florida. Good old NW Seattle comes in at 13 and Vancouver at 14!
