Seahawks Rookie Quarterback NFC Offensive Player of the Week

Seattle's Russell Wilson turned a lot of heads with his performance in the Seahawks overtime win Sunday in Chicago. His play also earned him a weekly award from the National Football League.

The Seahawks’ rookie quarterback has been selected NFC Offensive Player of the Week after leading a 12-play, 80-yard touchdown drive in overtime in Sunday’s upset victory against the Bears in Chicago.

 

Wilson completed 23 of 37 passes for 293 yards and two touchdowns against the Bears – with his 14-yard TD pass to Golden Tate giving the Seahawks a lead with 24 seconds to play and his 13-yard TD pass to Sidney Rice winning the game with 7:33 left in overtime. Wilson also ran for 71 yards, the most in a game by a quarterback in franchise history.

 

“He is amazing,” fullback Michael Robinson said after Sunday’s game. “He keeps believing. He believes in himself. He believes in this team. He believes in his preparation. And he prepares like no other."
