The Seahawks will lose this week's practices for violating terms of the collective bargaining agreement.

NFL teams are not allowed to have contract drills during their 10 days of organized team activities during the offseason. The Seahawks violated that rule and were not allowed to have two days of planned workouts this week.

The punishment was announced by the league and the players association yesterday.

The Seahawks cancelled workouts today and tomorrow, and anything scheduled for Friday. The players will be paid, but can't be at the team's facilities.

The NFL didn't say when the violation occured, only that live contact happened.

Coach Pete Carroll said “And we probably have stretched this limit, obviously, by this indication. I’m not surprised at that. We’re as competitive as you can be. And we have a very young football team. Most of these guys have never been in an OTA practice. So this is the first for them to get a smell of it.”

The Seahawks off season program concludes next week with a mandatory 3 day mini camp.
