Facebook statistics show that the Seahawks-Packers game was a gigantic topic of conversation on the social media site last Thursday night, as well as drawing a very large TV audience as well.

More than 8.5 million people generated nearly 15 million comments during the NFL's season opening game between the Seattle Seahawks and Green Bay Packers on Sept. 4.

Facebook also released a map of where each of the 32 NFL teams' fans are located, based on the number of "likes" that team gets on a county-by-county basis.

It's no surprise that Seattle takes in the entire state of Washington, most of Oregon and Idaho, and a portion of Montana.

The national TV audience for the Seahawks 36-16 shellacking of the Packers was 26.9 million viewers, according to Deadline.com.  That would make the game the third most-watched opener in NFL history.
